To Russia, With Love… “The all-new SmART+ was recently installed at the prestigious NRICP Meshalkin in Novisibirsk, Russia allowing Siberia to have preclinical IGRT.” Precision Xray, the leader in preclinical research, is happy to announce, the first installation of its kind in Russia. The SmART+ system is designed to provide researchers the ability to replicate clinical practices in a preclinical setting. Our system will provide accurate, reliable, and repeatable results, which will ultimately impact patient outcomes. We are looking forward to working with our partners to develop new and innovative ways to use radiation as part of disease eradication regardless of disease type or location. For those of you unfamiliar with Novisibirsk, it is the third largest city in Russia, and is the largest in Siberia. It has a proud tradition of technological excellence, and innovation. Our colleagues there will be studying glioblastoma (GBM) using targeted techniques to reduce normal tissue damage, while treating this awful disease. With a survival rate of less than a year, and virtually no change in those statistics in years, new techniques and technology are necessary. The SmART+ plus will promote worldwide collaboration to treat and defeat this dreaded cancer.
