At Precision, our mission is to develop next-generation technologies that inspire new and daring research in fields including academic irradiation. With over 20 years in the industry, we are a company dedicated to the global fight against disease, especially cancer … and one of the most challenging cancers is Glioblastoma. Glioblastoma (GBM), also known as glioblastoma multiforme, is a life threatening, aggressive brain tumor with a median survival time of only 15 months. As you can imagine, receiving this diagnosis is beyond life-changing to both patients and their loved ones.

The story begins when we were introduced to the Paul Dostie KARE “Kindness Always Rewards Everyone” Foundation, Inc. located nearby in Guilford, CT. A foundation employee contacted Precision to see if we would be interested in becoming a corporate sponsor for the Foundation’s KARE FEST Fundraiser scheduled on June 10^th, 2023, at the Guilford Fairgrounds. After reading about the mission of the Foundation, we knew this non-profit organization had a synergy with the mission of PRECISION, and we were thrilled to offer our support for the event.

To provide context to the KARE Foundation mission, Paul Dostie was known in his hometown of Guilford, CT and across the Connecticut shoreline, as a mentor, small business owner and mostly, as an amazing friend to all. His humble nature and kindness always touched others. After his untimely passing from Glioblastoma, a deadly form of brain cancer, the family honored Paul by establishing a non-profit foundation, The Paul Dostie KARE Foundation.

The mission for the non-profit Paul Dostie KARE Foundation is to provide funds to help support travel, medical and other expenses to alleviate stress on families faced with Glioblastoma (GBM) brain cancer and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) heart disease, which has also touched the lives of Paul and his family. Launched in November of 2021, the KARE Foundation has provided funds to 19 families, of which 14 families were fighting Glioblastoma. Of the 14 families, 7 were from CT.

On June 10^th, 2023, at the Guilford Fairgrounds, The Paul Dostie KARE Foundation will be hosting a Car show followed by the KARE FEST. featuring food trucks, raffles, a silent auction and highlighting local Shoreline musical talent. There will be something for everyone to enjoy… and all proceeds go towards supporting those diagnosed with GBM or HCM.
